Building Bridges, Connecting Communities

audio version

I was recently honored to be the keynote speaker for TIC-CON ‘25, an international conference hosted by the Tourette Association of America (virtual this year). I’m posting it in its entirety here. It’s long, but since the keynote allowed me to explore the aftermath of my HuffPost article from April 2024, it was a rewarding piece to write. (Probably not coincidentally, that HuffPost story is once again trending on Buzzfeed.) As always, I’ve recorded an audio version of the text, so if you want to listen to my soothingest voice read this keynote aloud for 20 minutes while you’re baking cookies or riding the treadmill at the gym, have at it! Until July 20th, you can also watch the keynote directly at the TAA’s conference website. I believe you’ll have to register (it’s free to do so) in order to watch.

There were more than 2,000 registrants for the conference, but I don’t know how many attended my address itself. A lot, I hope. I would’ve loved to have delivered this address before a live audience filled with hundreds of people—I love public speaking—but this was still very cool.

Thanks for reading Bright Boy: A Tourette's Life! This post is public so feel free to share it.
